Rabbi Eliyohu Swued was born and raised in Mexico City, where he received his early education in local Jewish schools. He later pursued advanced studies in New York, where he was ordained as a rabbi at the Central Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Brooklyn. He also completed specialized training as a kosher slaughterer (shochet) in Montreal, Canada.
After getting married, Rabbi Swued served for over 20 years as a rabbi, kosher slaughterer, and kosher auditor in Jewish communities across Colombia and Mexico.
Now based in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, Rabbi Swued brings decades of international experience to his work at OK Kosher. As a native Spanish speaker, he is especially well-equipped to support our Spanish-speaking clients and beyond.
